Training Incentive Allowance Amendment 2008

Pursuant to section 124(1)(d) of the Social Security Act 1964, the Minister for Social Development and Employment, by this instrument, makes the following amendments to the Training Incentive Allowance Programme (as established and approved on 30 November 1998*).

I n s t r u m e n t
1. Title—This instrument is the Training Incentive Allowance Amendment 2008.
2. Commencement—This instrument comes into effect on the day after it is made.
3. Programme amended—This instrument amends the Training Incentive Allowance Programme.
4. Period for which this Part is effective—Clause 12(b) is amended by omitting “2008” and substituting “2009”.
5. Young parent childcare payments—(1) Clause 13.1.3 is amended by adding “; and”.
(2) Clause 13.1 is amended by adding the following subclause:
“13.1.4 was, immediately before the end of the 2008 school year, receiving young parent childcare payments granted under clause 13.2.”.

Explanatory Note
This note is not part of the instrument, but is intended to indicate its general effect.
This instrument, which comes into effect on the day after
it is made, amends the Training Incentive Allowance Programme. The Teen parent pilot is extended to allow people who were receiving young parent childcare payments immediately before the end of the 2008 school year to continue to receive them during the 2009 school year or until their eligibility earlier ends.
