Pursuant to section 79 of the Hazardous Substances and New Organisms Act 1996, the Environmental Risk Management Authority gives notice that Hazknow Limited intends to apply for the approval of the Code of Practice for the Transfer and Transport of Class 1 Explosives.
This code specifies requirements for the Transport of Class 1 Explosives by Road and Rail and requirements for the Transfer of Class 1 Explosives from one mode of transport to another, ie ship to truck, truck to rail.
This code is a means of compliance with Regulations
46 through to 52A inclusive of the Hazardous Substances (Classes 1 to 5 Controls) Regulations.
These Regulations provide controls for the storage and handling of explosives and this code of practice provides
a practical means of meeting these controls.
