Notice of Intention to Apply for Approval of Code of Practice

Pursuant to section 79 of the Hazardous Substances and New Organisms Act 1996, the Environmental Risk Management Authority gives notice that Greentank Limited intends to apply for the approval of the Code of Practice for the
Design and Construction of Above Ground Stationary Tanks to ULC-ORD-C80.1-2000.
This code specifies requirements for fibreglass above ground stationary tanks for the storage of up to 1200 litres of diesel and low flash point diesel.
Under clause 8 (2) (h) of Schedule 8 to the Hazardous Substances (Dangerous Goods and Scheduled Toxic Substances) Transfer Notice 2004, above ground stationary tanks for hazardous liquids must be designed and constructed in accordance with one of the Standards listed in paragraphs 8 (2) (a)–(g) of that Schedule or a code of practice approved by the Authority under section 79 of the Act.

Submissions close on 21 December 2006.
