Notice of Intention to Apply for Approval of

Code of Practice
Pursuant to section 79 of the Hazardous Substances and New Organisms Act 1996, the Environmental Risk Management Authority (ERMA New Zealand) gives notice that
APD Limited
intends to apply for the approval of the Code of Practice
for the Design and Construction of Vertical Cylindrical Above Ground Thermoplastic Stationary Tanks for the Storage of Hazardous Liquids with Class 6, 8 and 9 Hazard Classifications.
This code specifies requirements for thermoplastic above ground vertical cylindrical stationary tanks which store toxic, corrosive or ecotoxic liquids that are not flammable.
Under clause 8 (2) (h) of Schedule 8 to the Hazardous Substances (Dangerous Goods and Scheduled Toxic Substances) Transfer Notice 2004, above ground stationary tanks for hazardous liquids must be designed and constructed in accordance with one of the Standards listed
in paragraphs 8 (2) (a)-(g) of that Schedule or a code
of practice approved by the authority under section 79 of
the Act.
