Pursuant to Regulation 90 (2) of the Traffic Regulations 1976, and pursuant to the powers delegated to me by the Director of Land Transport Safety Authority, I, Brent Blann, Technical Manager, hereby exempt the motorcycles specified in Schedule 1 of this notice from the requirements in Schedule 2, subject to the conditions in Schedule 3.
Schedule 1
All BMW R 1200 CL motorcycles.
Schedule 2
The requirement from which the class of vehicle in Schedule 1 is exempted:
Regulation 58 (1) (c) of the Traffic Regulations 1976:
"Every motor vehicle (other than a moped or trailer) shall be equipped:
(c) In the case of a motorcycle, with at least one and not more than two headlamps attached thereto".
Schedule 3
Conditions
(i) This exemption is conditional on the motorcycles having been shown to comply with UN/ECE Regulation 53.
(ii) This exemption may be revoked at any time.
