In terms of section 54 (3) of the Reserve Bank of
New Zealand Act 1989, I hereby notify my appointment
of
Ted Thomas, D.C.N.Z.M., Q.C.
as a non-executive director of the Reserve Bank of
New Zealand for a five-year term with effect on and from
1 March 2003.
