Pursuant to section 12 of the New Zealand Geographic Board Act 1946, notice was given on 8 December 1994 of the intention of the New Zealand Geographic Board to alter the name of Katui to Kaitui as stated in the first column of the Schedule below, to the place described in the second column of the said Schedule.
Objections were received to the proposed change of name and were dealt with pursuant to section 13 of the said Act in 1995.
Pursuant to section 15 of the Act, notice is hereby given of the decision on 10 October 1995 by the then Minister of Survey and Land Information, Denis Marshall, that the name Kaitui would replace the name Katui.
