In exercise of its powers under sections 42 (1) (a), 42 (2) (a), 42 (9), 42 (3) and 48A of the Nurses Act 1977, the Nursing Council of New Zealand ("the council"), in a decision dated 9 November 2000, ordered that Stefan Knight's name be removed from the Register of Comprehensive Nurses.
Stefan Knight may apply for reinstatement to the register after 12 months.
The council also ordered that he pay $770.00 towards the costs and expenses of and incidental to the inquiry by the council, and that a notice stating the effect of these orders be published in the New Zealand Gazette, Kai Tiaki: Nursing New Zealand, Waikato Times and the council's newsletter.
