Results of the General Election for Membership of the Council of the Pharmaceutical of New Zealand November 1998 Notice is hereby given of the result of an election of members of the Council of the Pharmaceutical Society of New Zealand held on Monday, 23 November 1998. Auckland District Four candidates were nominated for three vacancies. 581 ballot papers were issued, 297 were returned and the poll resulted: David Wallace Bain 265 Eleanor Ann Hawthorn 262 David John McFadzien 199 Mark Ernest Bedford 89 David Wallace Bain, Eleanor Ann Hawthorn and David John McFadzien were the successful candidates and I declare them duly elected. Wellington District Two candidates were nominated for two vacancies. David Warwick Thompson Andrea Lee Gibson I declare David Warwick Thompson and Andrea Lee Gibson duly elected. Canterbury District Two candidates were nominated for one vacancy. 161 ballot papers were issued, 101 were returned and the poll resulted: Robert John Fleming 51 Graeme Todd Matheson 50 Robert John Fleming was the successful candidate and I declare him duly elected. Otago/Southland District Two candidates were nominated for one vacancy. 82 ballot papers were issued, 59 were returned and the poll resulted: Bernard Joseph McKone 45 Peter Alexander Barron 14 Bernard Joseph McKone was the successful candidate and I declare him duly elected. North Island District Four candidates were nominated for three vacancies. 1685 ballot papers were issued, 508 were returned and the poll resulted: Andrew Francis Orange 368 Linda Julia Morcombe Bryant 367 Elizabeth Ann Finn 340 Barbara Dawn O'Driscoll 281 Andrew Francis Orange, Linda Julia Morcombe Bryant and Elizabeth Ann Finn were the successful candidates and I declare them duly elected. South Island Non Proprietors one required Two candidates were nominated for one vacancy. 520 ballot papers were issued, 195 were returned and the poll resulted: Dr Nerida Ann Smith 163 Kerri Louise Gazzard 46 Dr Nerida Ann Smith was the successful candidate and I declare her duly elected.
