Australia New Zealand Food Authority Food Standards The Australia New Zealand Food Authority advises progress on the following applications and proposals for the development or variation of standards in the Food Standards Code. Box 10-559 The Terrace WELLINGTON 6036 NEW ZEALAND Telephone: (04) 473 9942 Facsimile: (04) 473 9855 Matters at Inquiry The authority will conduct inquiries into the draft standards or variations to standards prepared at full assessment of the following applications and proposal and invites written submissions on matters relevant to these inquiries: Colours in fats and oils (A300). An application to permit the addition of certain natural colourings and their synthetic equivalents to fats and oils for the purpose of restoring natural colour lost in processing or for the purpose of standardising colour. Written submissions close on 12 March 1997. Deletion of the word CALVADOS (A327). An application to delete the word CALVADOS from Standard P3 of the Food Standards Code. With respect to this application the authority is satisfied that the application raises issues of minor significance and complexity and has decided to omit to invite public submissions prior to making a full assessment. Written submissions close on 19 February 1997. Foods derived from gene technology (P97). A proposal to regulate foods and food ingredients derived from gene technology. Written submissions close on 3 April 1997.
