Notice of Intention to Establish the J M Barker (Hapupu) National Reserve In terms of section 13 (3) (a), Reserves Act 1977, the Minister of Conservation notifies his intention to establish a National Reserve at the J M Barker (Hapupu) Historic Reserve, Chatham Island. The reserve covers an area of 30.1055 hectares. It features graphic art of the Moriori people in the form of carvings on kopi trees. The reserve was previously declared to be a National Reserve, but a procedural error in the classification process resulted in that declaration being invalid. Persons wishing to obtain more information on this proposal, or submit a submission or objection, should do so in writing to Regional Conservator, Department of Conservation, Private Bag, Christchurch. Submissions and objections must be received before 30 November 1995.
