This instrument, which comes into force on 2 March 2020, amends the Special Needs Grant Programme made under the Social Security Act 1964 (and saved by clause 21, Schedule 1 of the Social Security Act 2018). It gives approval for payments under Part 6 of the programme to farmers affected by the drought in the:
- Territories of the Far North, Whangarei, and Kaipara District Councils.
- The Albany, North Shore, Rodney, Waitākere, Waitematā and Gulf, and Whau ward areas of the Auckland Council.
The approval applies between 2 March 2020 and the close of 2 November 2020, unless further extended by the Minister.
The instrument is a disallowable instrument for the purposes of the Legislation Act 2012 and is administered by the Ministry for Social Development.
