Pursuant to sections 47(3) and 395(3) of the Maritime Transport Act 1994, the Director of Maritime New Zealand hereby notifies the granting of the following exemptions:
- 1 from Maritime Rule 46.23(1)(a) – Surveys, Certification and Maintenance – Barges – Survey of barges – Owner of barge must ensure surveyor completes initial and renewal surveys
- 1 from Maritime Rule 46.24(3) – Surveys, Certification and Maintenance – Barges – Certification of barges – Owner of a barge must not operate that barge unless the barge has a valid New Zealand Barge Safety Certificate
- 1 from Marine Protection Rule Part 121B – Ship Design and Construction – Ship other than Oil Tankers
- 1 from Marine Protection Rule 122.4 – Marine Protection Products – Oil – Oil discharge monitoring and control system and oil filtering equipment
- 1 from Marine Protection Rule 122.5 – Marine Protection Products – Oil – Oil discharge monitoring and control system and oil filtering equipment – Ships that do not have to carry oil filtering equipment
