Performance Improvement Framework Assessment

This report summarises the results of a performance assessment of the Department of Internal Affairs.

The assessment was undertaken for the sole purpose of testing the agency Performance Improvement Framework (PIF) model and approach developed by the State Services Commission, The Treasury and Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet. Further refinements were made to the model as a result of this piloting process.

Overall, the assessors’ view was that the Department’s performance had significantly improved over the past five to seven years. Relationships and service to Ministers were noted as particular strengths.

See more information about the Government's Performance Improvement Framework (State Services Commission website).
